Waverley, November 14

MASSIVE PRINCE

Settled second-last and finished strongly for third behind a winner and second placegetter who raced close to the pace. He clocked the fastest last 800m, 600m and 400m. All of his three wins have come over 1400m, so look out for him when he steps back up to that trip.

Tauranga November 15

BEABOPALULA

This filly by Turn Me Loose has now recorded three placings from a five-start career. She found the line on good style here, going down by only a long neck at the finish, and she looks close to an overdue maiden win.
Riccarton November 15

PROFESSIONAL LAD

Still a maiden, but has placed in three of his six starts including a second in a photo finish to last month’s Gr.3 War Decree Stakes. He produced an eye-catching effort here for sixth in the Gr.1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas, finishing strongly for sixth in the fastest last 400m and 200m of the race. He’ll be extremely hard to beat if he drops to maiden company next start.
Rotorua November 16

LET’S DANCE

Covered plenty of extra ground in a tough wide run, but kept fighting to finish a close third behind an all-the-way winner. He’s placed in both starts so far this time in and doesn’t need to improve much to clear maiden ranks.
Waipukurau November 16

UNUSUAL INVADER

Big effort on debut, making up plenty of ground in the straight to finish third with some of the best sectionals of the race. Shouldn’t be a maiden for long.
