Cromwell November 28 – Race 4

 

 

Two starts so far for two strong-finishing second placings, beaten by half a length or less on both occasions. Looks very close to a maiden win.

 

 

Ellerslie November 29 – Race 3

 

 

Plenty to like about his runner-up finishes in both of his starts so far, including behind subsequent Group One winner Well Written. The way he has found the line suggest the extra 100 metres here will be ideal, and he doesn’t need to improve much to open his winning account.

 

 

Wanganui November 29 – Race 5

 

 

Talented type who has recorded a win and two seconds from his three starts to date. Got home well for second over 1200 metres last start and looks perfectly suited here over 1340.

 

 

Otaki November 30 – Race 2

 

 

Big run for second on debut at Woodville earlier this month. Looks to have a fair bit of upside and is likely to break through for a maiden win sooner rather than later.

 

 

Cromwell November 30 – Race 8

 

 

Last seen during the big carnival at Riccarton, where she produced a huge finish for second and was beaten by a head. A similar performance would make her extremely hard to hold out here.
