Mixed his jumping but really got his act together over the final stages, charging home for third only four lengths from the winner. Just maybe he’s a lightweight threat in the big one back at Te Rapa in a couple of weeks.

Riccarton Saturday August 25

HEADING TO NOOSA

Had no luck when finishing third at Riccarton earlier in the month, but that was nothing compared to the hammering he took this time. Big effort to still finish fourth and only needs a change in fortunes to get what he deserves.

Hawera, Sunday August 26

HARDTIMES

Did well for fourth less than two lengths from the winner after having to make his run along the slow inside. Has form over longer distances and should be ready to step up.
