LOVERACING.NZ Preview - Cambridge Synthetic 27 September

27 September 2023

Meeting Overview:

Going: Synthetic

Rail: True

The Cambridge Synthetic track plays consistently across all lanes, where all runners will have their chance (pace dependent). Due to the relatively short 250m straight, those handy to the speed turning in tend to be hard to catch for those back in the field.

Best Bet

Race 4 - #2 LHASA (Win)

Lhasa Looks well placed in this field over 1300m 2nd up. His 1st up run over 1100m at Ruakaka suggested he has returned in excellent order, where he closed off from well back without much luck down the straight. Willing to say he has more upside than most of these, therefore will be happy to bet the $3.80 currently available.

Next Best Bet

Race 6 - #3 HIGHLY ANTICIPATED (Win)

The debut run for 3rd over this course/distance was more than a pass mark for mine. After not jumping overly cleanly, Highly Anticipated quickly recovered and found a nice trailing position with cover throughout, only to be held up at a crucial stage turning in. With plenty of runners engaged who like to roll forward, the speed in this 970m contest will likely be frantic, which should see Highly Anticipated and Warren Kennedy landing behind the clump of leaders early. With even luck in running, she looks a bet at $4.80 in this line-up for mine.
