Race 6 - #1 FREEZE FRAME (Win)

Freeze Frame reflects a model of consistency, having not finished further back than 3^rd in his 6 career starts. There looks to be no shortage of speed in this race, which will play right into the hands of Freeze Frame and Warren Kennedy. The extra 100m will only assist his chances, whilst the likely heavy conditions shouldn’t pose any issues if he can find clear air to the outside of runners.

Race 5 - #1 CRYSTALLIZE (Each Way)

Very honest first up performance from Crystallize, who hadn’t been sighted at the races since October 2022. I expect we will see plenty of natural improvement out of Crystallize second up, with only 14 days between runs and the additional 100m here. He maps to land an economical trailing spot behind likely leader Tightlign, which should see him have every chance with clear running in the straight. Triston Moodley’s 4kg claim as well as the heavy track brings him right into contention at nice each way odds.

Race 2 - #15 STRUCK GOLD (Each Way)

The $13 on opening for this horse is well over the odds for mine. This 3yo son of Castledale debuts here off the back of a very quiet trial in March, where he was never out of second gear on the bridle. Struck Gold also won a trial with ease on a Heavy10 back in December 2022, where he sidled on by subsequent race winner, Our Turn. If the expected rain arrives, I don’t believe it will pose too much of an issue for him. Expecting he could give a sight here at double figure odds on debut.
