He had every right to weaken after being three wide on a good tempo as indicated by the sectionals, so to lead in the straight and just get run down by a backmarker, and where all the other on pace runners tired, means he just needs a decent draw and he will be much harder to run down.

Highland Whisper Race 1 Ruakaka 17 July

He didn't show a lot of early speed and got back on the inner, but the way he unwound late for third in tight quarters, running the best closing sectionals in all categories, shows he is capable of winning a maiden race at least.

The way this strong looking two-year-old found the line late in the best last 200m of the race, shows he just needs more ground to be much harder to keep out.
