Blackbookers - 13 November
Pukekohe, November 8
KIWI SKYHAWK
He was one of the last to come around the home turn and briefly had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight. He then produced an eye-catching finish into fifth, only 2.4 lengths from the winner. Look out for him when he stretches out over further than 1600m.
Riccarton, November 8
MAYBE DIVA
Charged home from the back of the field to finish second, and was beaten by only a head by Toa Haka. She ran the fastest last 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m in the race and looks close to a win.
Tauherenikau, November 9
AUTUMN QUEEN
This debut performance had plenty of merit. She was slow to begin and settled near the back and wide. She had to make a long run and come widest of all around the home turn. She made up plenty of ground to finish third, less than a length and a half from the winner, and ran some excellent sectionals. She’s a filly to watch.
