Ashburton October 31 – Race 3

 

 

Group One placegetter last season and hasn’t had much go right this time in – including being carried right off the track around the home turn at Taupo last start. Despite that, he ran some of the fastest sectionals of the race and finished only 3.7 lengths from the winner in fifth. That Taupo race has also produced the impressive subsequent Ellerslie winner Belle Cheval (third).

 

 

Tauranga November 1 – Race 2

 

 

Produced a big finish for second over this distance at Rotorua last start, beaten by a long neck by the very promising Yamato Satona. Would be hard to beat here with a similar performance.

 

 

Tauherenikau November 1 – Race 4

 

 

Highly talented Cambridge raider who ran an eye-catching race for second first-up at Te Rapa on September 27. The extra 200m here should suit.

 

 

Woodville November 2 – Race 1

 

 

First-starter who made a good impression with a trial win at Foxton last week. Looks like a three-year-old worth following.

 

 

Riverton November 2 – Race 2

 

 

Clearly the highest-rated runner in this field and gets in well with Floor Moerman’s 3kg claim. Two-time winner here and has won five at the distance. The one to beat.
