Blackbookers - 19 June
Te Rapa, June 14
INDIAN GOLD
This was a big effort in his first start since September. He was slowly away and settled at the back of the field, but charged home to be second and beaten by only half a length. He ran the fastest last 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m of the race. Looks likely to go through the grades.
Wanganui, June 14
EXIT LEFT
Did plenty of work out in front, then got bogged down in the heaviest ground along the inside in the home straight. Still fought hard all the way to the line and was barely a length from the winner in third. A performance that deserves plenty of credit.
Matamata, June 15
ELOISE
Covered a lot of extra ground out wide, but put in a big run to be second and beaten by only half a length. The winner enjoyed a much more economical run.
Oamaru, June 15
NIGHT RAIDER
Finished strongly from worse than midfield to get into the placings, clocking the fastest last 200m in a race dominated by on-speed runners.
