Had no luck when fifth on debut and again struck traffic problems in the early stages of the home straight. Got going late to finish second, has a win at short notice.

Only three starts under his belt makes next week’s New Zealand Derby a tall order, but the way this James/Wellwood-trained gelding found the line in the Avondale Guineas says he’s right in contention.

Taken back from wide gate and had plenty to do from the top of the straight. Once into the clear she found plenty and finished second. A next-up winner with any sort of luck.
