Shaping up well with third placings at his last two starts over 1600m, again hitting the line well this time as if ready to step up to middle-distance. When he does he’ll take some beating.

Struck trouble early that forced him to settle back and again soon after straightening. Lost momentum at a vital stage and did well to finish on for fourth. One to stay with through summer handicaps.

 

 

Ellerslie, December 26

 

Big jump from maiden win to Group Two and measured up well even if out of the major placings. Settled in the rear and didn’t get any favours when trying to improve. Best work was late in very good sectionals.

 

 

Otaki, December 26

 

Big effort for third in just her second start. Strong over the final stages from well back and definitely one to watch for over longer distances.

 

 

Wingatui, December 26

 

Back from a let-up with eye-catching third, working into the clear late and hitting the line hard. Can get his reward when stepped up to 1600m.
