First starter who struck early trouble at the start and again when attempting to improve. Once clear she wound up impressively for third. Won’t be at the same odds again but should get her chance over the holiday period.

 

Ellerslie, November 30

 

Untapped but obviously talented, stepped up from maiden win to back-type grade and rattled home for third. Up to 1600m and beyond she’s going to make her mark.

 

 

Wanganui, November 30

 

Proven over longer distances and in his second-up run did well for fourth after leading through the mid-stages. Bound to be fitter for the run and should be able to capitalise on his handy place in the handicap.

 

 

Cromwell, December 1

 

Backing up from maiden win two days earlier and with a bit more luck could have completed a double. One to stay with in the weeks ahead.
