Good debut effort to finish fourth after settling back from outside gate and having to improve widest around the turn. Loomed into it and fought bravely behind horses that had more economical trips.

STRANGE LOVE

Very brave in second and had every excuse to be beaten further. Jumped well and did plenty of work to eventually cross them but kept finding when the challenges came. Not the easiest ride but can win if she gets more favours.

IFFIDIDIT

Totally luckless finishing seventh after being stuck for room when needing to get out early in the run home, then blocked again in the final stages.

Rotorua, October 13

DODDLE

Got well out of her ground and still back turning in. Did well to finish fourth just over a length from the winner.
