Didn’t get clear until inside the final 200m and found the line strongly for third. That was her first start beyond 1600m and her first time in the money, so definitely a sign  of better things to come.

CARTER RUSSELL

Forced to race wide throughout and went off stride when in the firing line with 200m to run. Did well to pick himself up and hit the line strongly in fifth place.

TAVIS COURT

Eight-year-old veteran but the way he found the line for third in his campaign opener indicated he’s well worth following through the winter.

VAMOS

Raced in the less preferred inner section of the track and caught short of room halfway up the home straight. Found the line well for fourth less than two lengths behind the winner.
