Track Preview:
Given the Strathyr surface here, we are likely to see another consistent and fair Good 4 track that should give all runners a chance. The rail is out 6m for this meeting, which will naturally favour those on speed runners who are able to control the tempo and kick off the corner.

Race 6 - #3 JUST AS SHARP (Place)

A tough race this, with a very short and deserving favourite in Orchestral, I think there is value to be had betting around her. Just As Sharp was sensational when chasing her home last start over 1600m here at Ellerslie in the 3YO Karaka Millions and his stye suggests the rise to 2100m here looks ideal. He is likely to have to over come the pattern the way the track will play with a rail out 6m, but he looks like a quality stayer in the making and at $2.80 to place I am with him.

Race 7 - #6 TRUST IN YOU (Each Way)

This is shaping as a tricky race but that means there is plenty of value on offer if you like one. I have been very impressed with how Trust In You has announced himself at this level with his two recent wins and this race isn’t too dissimilar to the one he won last start at Pukekohe. He meets a similar field with just 52.5kg and has ticked the 2400m box already. He is an improving stayer who looks to have a touch of quality and in an open edition of the Group 2 Eagle Technology Avondale Cup, I am backing him each way at $8.50 & $2.80.
