Waisake

You could not have wished for a better Cup trial. He reeled of some outstanding sectionals for the fast pace of the race and with a clear run at them, will win the Wellington Cup.

Race 1 Wingatui, 13 January

Peekay

He was punted heavily and was caught wide all the way, but fought on well with good closing sectionals. Nice galloper and can win from a better draw next time.

Race 2 Wingatui, 13 January

She's An Ace

She got well off the pace but ran home when she got clear very late to grab fifth. She is a long striding mare and over 1400m, maybe on a wetter track, will be harder to beat.

Race 1 Trentham, 13 January

Dimaggio

He sat three wide in the open in midfield and was still able to run the third best last 600m for fourth. The stable is firing at the moment so expect a winning run next up.

Race 6 Trentham, 13 January

Certainly

She snagged back from the wide draw. When she improved before the corner she was hampered wider but the unleashed a sustained charge to get up for sixth just 0.8L from the winner. She looks a great beat to return here and win the Oaks.
