Race 8 Pukekohe Park, 1 January

Waitak

He ended up at the rear with the very fast pace and had to reel off some outstanding sectionals to get up. The race time of 1.09.76 was also terrific given it was rated an upgraded Soft 6. He has now proven himself against the best and wherever he goes, he has to be hard to beat next up.

Race 8 Pukekohe Park, 1 January

Bonny Lass

Luck deserted her again when she got badly hampered by others in the straight and still came back and ran second. She would have made it interesting with Waitak. She has had more than her fair share of bad luck and deserves a Group 1.

Race 9 Pukekohe Park, 1 January 

Arby

After being held up in the straight, once he got clear, he came in good sectionals for fourth looking as though a middle distance is what he wants now.

Race 8 Tauranga, 2 January

Perry Street

Midrace he received a check that almost dislodged his rider. So he did very well to run third in the second quickest closing sectionals. It was only his second run and the blinkers going on did help.

Race 6 Otaki, 4 January

Cheval de Foudre

If he had got clear earlier in the home straight he would have gone close to winning! He ran the quickest closing sectionals for fourth and will be very hard to beat next up.
