LOVERACING.NZ Preview - Pukekohe 7 November
Meeting Overview
Going: Good4 (6/11)
Rail: True
The track is currently a Good4 at time of writing on Monday afternoon, it should stay in that range for the duration of racing. The rail was out 7m at the last meeting here on 28th October. With the rail now coming back to the true position, I expect those near the speed and coming home on the inside 5 lanes will be hard to beat.
Best Bet
Race 5 - #14 LA VERITE (Each Way)
Lightly tried 6yo mare with plenty of upside who hasn’t had many favours in her short career. She looks to have found an ideal setup here 3rd up, where she gets the services of a strong rider in Matt Cameron which also helps. The speed in the race looks exceptionally fast, which should see her landing just off the pacemakers on the fence from the low gate (2). She drops 2.5kg and comes back in distance 100m from her last start, which I see as two positives in her favour here. $7.50/$2.50 looks a very decent price for what looks a mare with stacks of ability.
Next Best Bet
Race 10 - #3 LINGJUN XIONGFENG (Each Way)
Blinkers go on 2nd up, where he looks to get a great run on the rails from the inside gate. His first up run was eye-catching, where he rattled off some smart late sectionals on the Good4 at Te Rapa. The key for him in this race is that he gets the firm conditions underfoot again, whilst also getting a genuine speed to follow, which should see him round off his race strongly. The $11/$3.50 looks a solid each way price to end the day at Pukekohe.
