LOVERACING.NZ Preview - Riccarton 16 September

15 September 2023

Meeting Overview:

Going: Good4 (15/09/23)

Rail: Out 7m

The rail comes in 1m from the last meeting at Riccarton two weeks ago, where we should be racing on a Good4 throughout the day, with no rain forecasted. I expect the track to play evenly across all lanes, where every runner will have their chance (pace dependent).

Best Bet

Race 2 - #12 STAR OF JUSTICE (Win)

Plenty of big ticks in the favour of Star Of Justice for this assignment. She gets Warren Kennedy on, an extra 100m, blinkers and tongue tie go on, whilst also racing on a much firmer surface here 2nd up. Star Of Justice had four trials leading into her debut, with the best of those being on a Soft5, where the blinkers were applied and she won by 2.25L. This isn’t the strongest trial, I had her marked odds on in this field.

Next Best Bet

Race 10 - #13 WATCH OUT (Win)

She looked a touch unlucky when held up at a crucial stage when finishing 2nd behind smart type, It’s Business Time, at her last start here. The step up to 1400m on a firmer surface from a middle draw (8) looks ideal, where she should be able to position midfield with cover and unleash her trademark sprint down the middle of the track.
