Race 3 - #8 TALISKER (Win)

As a Group 2 placegetter, Talisker looks extremely well placed back in maiden company with only 54kg on his back after Niranjan Parmar’s claim. He has been sent down south to kick off his campaign towards a 2000 Guineas in November, where he is considered to be one of the leading chances. There maps to be plenty of speed in this small field, which should allow Niranjan Parmar to settle back with Talisker and finish over the top of them late. The $1.80 is well over the odds for mine, I had him priced around the $1.30 mark, in a race he should be winning on a path to the 2000 Guineas.

Value Bet

Race 7 - #2 FATHER LENIHAN (Each Way)

He is first up here, having last raced here over 1600m back in May. Although Father Lenihan hasn’t placed since December 2022, he does come into this off the back of a nice trial earlier this month, where he looked to be coasting in behind them. Terry Moseley sticks from the trial and from barrier one, he should get an economical run midfield on the rail. The $10/$3.30 on offer looks a more than fair each way price, looking for a market lead come race day also.
