Sectional Star of the Week

Race 8 Riccarton, 22 April

She's A Con

This race was run at a very good tempo. Kylie Williams rode a textbook race to get her off the inside and to the outside fence by the final turn. From there she sustained an excellent run to win. Her sectionals were excellent considering the tempo of the race. The race time was 2.23 seconds faster than the open class time. She may go to Queensland and based on that run, she should.

Sectional Standouts

Race 9 Matamata, 19 April

Wishheart

The blinkers going on certainly was a winning move for Wisheart. After working through to lead he fought back well to win. The race time and his sectionals indicate it won't be his last win.

Race 5 Otaki, 20 April

Miss Nico Belle

After snagging back from the wide draw and getting pushed wider on the last turn, she came home in excellent sectionals to grab second. That was her third run back and she will be peaking next up.

Race 9 Pukekohe, 22 April

Pacheco

From fifth outer at the 600m mark he was putting in some good strides late to run the quickest last 200 metres. He looks like he needs a middle distance and if he gets that next up, watch out for him.

Race 3 Riccarton, 22 April

Loquita

She settled back and sustained a long run to grab second. She wanted to lay in down the straight and had to be corrected a few times. If they can correct that next up she looks ready to strike.
