Race 1 - #8 DAZZLED (WIN)

Big fan of this Pierro filly’s first-up run at Avondale last month, where she hit the strongly behind Pour The Wine (who subsequently placed behind Fellini last weekend). Back to 1100m on a better surface is no concern for mine, with this contest looking like a weaker maiden than she contested last time. In-form jock Warren Kennedy now takes the steer, with natural improvement from her last run, she looks awfully hard to beat.

Race 5 - #3 TEARSFORFEARS (WIN)

Thought this horse was a great bet at the $2.50 opening price on TAB. He SP’d at $1.60 on debut in a a very similar maiden field, where he travelled strongly before finding nothing down the straight when asked by Opie Bosson. Opie sticks with him, the tongue tie goes on, I’ll happily give him another chance at the better price on a better surface here.

Race 6 - #7 SULABELLA (EACH WAY)

Expecting a much-improved performance from this 4yo Proisir mare back on her home track. In a race where there looks to be an abundance of early tempo, I expect she’ll be getting well back off the speed from her wide draw (11), which shouldn’t be a negative if they are getting along in front. My main concern would be how far she does get out of her ground over the 1200m sprint trip, however, I think she is at a fair each way price around the $9 quote on TAB.
