Standout Sectionals - 27th February
Sectional Star of the Week
Race 1 Riccarton Park, 24 February
Decision Time
This was a strong win in the best sectionals. The race time was faster than the R75 and R65 so she should cope with the rise in class. This filly looks stronger now and has a bright future.
Sectional Standouts
Race 10 Pukekohe, 22 February
Santenay
From a wide draw was taken back but they didn't go fast enough up front, so to finish off in for fifth was a good effort. Looks like 1600 metres or further will suit too.
Race 7 Wanganui, 23 February
Geezas George
He couldn't quite find the front, so was forced to sit outside the leader, but fought well in good sectionals for second. That was his second run back and should be spot on next up.
Race 4 Otaki, 25 February
Prioress
After drawing out, she got caught three-wide with no cover so gradually moved forward to challenge on the turn. She did well to fight on for second so watch out for her from a decent draw.
Race 5 Matamata, 25 February
Gwen's Daughter
With 200m to go she was held up and when she got out, it was too late but still ran third in good sectionals. A genuine mare who should be hard to beat next up.
