STANDOUT SECTIONALS WEEK ENDING 30 MAY

Double Happy Race 1 Ellerslie 29 May

To the eye, he looked a next-up winner out of this race, as he strode out strongly late for fourth over a distance too short for him and a track too good for him. The sectionals back it up, with the second best closing ones in all categories. Looks in for a very good season.

Marley Race 2 Ellerslie 29 May

After covering plenty of extra ground in a big field, she did very well to still run the fourth best closing sectionals. Full sister to the handy stablemate, Speedy Meady, and looks stronger now. The Stephen Ralph stable gets them very fit.

Seaaprince Race 6 Trentham 29 May

From a wide position in running, he made his run in the slower ground and was still able to run the best last 600 metres. He may be seven years old but has only had 10 starts. Handles a wet track like a pro, so is in for a profitable season.

Mogador Race 7 Trentham 29 May

Across the top, he lost a few places, but ran home as though he could need a middle distance now. His last 200 metres was the second fastest and his action says 2000m or more would suit now.
