THIS WEEK’S BLACKBOOKERS
Take The Deel Race 5 Wingatui May 28
An economical midfield run backfired on him when he got shuffled back and then couldn’t find galloping room. Hit the line full of running and shouldn’t be long making amends.
Password Race 1 Trentham May 29
Didn’t appear to enjoy the heavy conditions on his way to finishing a well-beaten sixth. Better than that; look for improvement next time on a slow track.
Masso Race 3 Trentham 29 May
This big galloper got back and was held up at a vital stage before finishing on strongly, running the best last 200 metres of the race. The step up to 1600m will be ideal next-up.
Hooter Race 5 Trentham 29 May
The way he unwound late for third, running the second best closing sectionals, shows he is on track for a good campaign. His galloping action also suits wet tracks.
There You Go Race 5 Ellerslie 29 May
First starter who left a big impression with her black-type placing. Once balanced up, she hit the line nicely for third in the second best last 200 metres. Blinkers look like something that will help her out, so watch out for her back against maiden two-year-olds.
Thunder Race 7 Ellerslie 29 May
He only finished 11th, but from last, ran the best closing sectionals. Back on a wetter track and maybe up in open class, he will be much better suited.
Fonts de L’Algar Race 7 Cambridge June 2
Charged home for second when it was all over after having to find galloping room at the top of the straight. Watch out for her next time on the synthetic.
