Standout sectionals
Siracusa Race 6 Tauranga 27 March
The way she unwound late for second in the best closing sectionals of the race shows that she is right on track for Te Aroha in two weeks. Any rain won't hurt her chances as well.
Dear Oh Dear Race 1 Tauranga 27 March
After settling at the rear, and after they backed off midrace, she unwound hard late for fifth in the second-best sectionals of the race. In a solidly run 1600m race, she will be harder to keep out.
Come Back Tiger Race 2 Tauranga 27 March
His early burn to lead in 24.87, gave him every excuse to tire 200m out but instead, he stuck on bravely for second. Surely, back in a Rating 65 race, with an apprentice allowance, he will be much better placed to lead all the way.
He set the fastest first 400m all day of 23.95 so did well to hold on for second. He won second up this time last year and looks set to repeat that pattern.
Art De Triomphe Race 3 Riccarton 27 March
After getting well back over the 1000m she angled wider and really stretched out like a good horse. And her last 600m of 32.5 was the fourth fastest all day and it was only her first start! She looks to have a very good future.
Ucalledit Race 9 Riccarton 27 March
The way he found the line for a close third in the best closing sectionals, showed that he will appreciate more ground and has an action that indicates that too.
