They aren’t just vehicles, they’re lifelines. New Zealand is the only racing nation in the world with a dedicated national service – 10 state of the art ambulances. Built in Otago, a horse ambulance attends close to 700 race meetings, trials, equestrian events throughout New Zealand, safeguarding the well-being of our beloved equine athletes. We spoke with Matamata Veterinary Services' Roisin McQuillan on the importance of this essential service during the NZ Horse Ambulance Trust's winter appeal, Here for the Horse.
