Racing Taupo

Racing Taupo generally holds three race meetings and a number of trial days each season.  Taupo's Centennial Park racecourse is renowned for its ability to provide a consistent galloping surface leading up to major spring racing and, accordingly, attracts many high-profile and well-bred horses which commence their campaigns at the Spring Marquee Meeting.  There are no permanent grandstands at the course but a natural bank running the length of the track provides excellent viewing. Marquees are erected at all meetings to provide shelter from sun or adverse weather conditions.

Membership: August to July - Annual subscription $46.00 (Inc. GST)
New membership is welcomed throughout the year by contacting the Secretary.
Membership privileges include entry and facility use at all Taupo meetings and at our cohorts of Racing Rotorua and Racing Te Aroha and reciprocal rights to Matamata, Tauranga and Ellerslie.

Feature Meeting - December - Taupo PAK’nSAVE Summer Festival Raceday
Family fun picnic day at the races. Entrance fee applies to non-members, (FREE to children under 18).
FREE kids activities. Indulge in the great local food from our mobile food vendors and on-site refreshment Marquees.
Please note that this is a NO BYO event. All bars will be fully catered and stocked with standard refreshments.
Pack a blanket, a hat and bring the kids along for a great family day out.

Taupo

Home to Racing Taupo, the Taupo track is renowned for its ability to provide a consistent galloping surface Accordingly, Taupo attracts many high-profile and well-bred horses which commence their campaigns at the Spring Marquee Meetings in August, September and October. There is no undercover grandstand at the course, but a natural bank running the length of the back straight and two grand stands provide excellent viewing. Marquees are erected at all meetings to provide shelter from the sun or adverse weather conditions. A designated Members/Sponsors Marquee has catered food and refreshments while Mobile Food Vendors offer nourishment to the general public attendees.

Admission: Free except for the Summer meeting in December when entry is $10 for adults and $10 per car. Under 18s go free. 

Catering: There are coffee stands, hot chips etc. and a wide variety of freshly made food is available at all meetings.

Eftpos: Available on course at the main tote booth.
