Following the cancellation of trials at Te Aroha on Thursday 4 May due to a horse slipping in trackwork, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing will meet with Racing Te Aroha early next week to progress a way forward.

This will include the future of upcoming race meetings scheduled at Te Aroha, which was set to return to racing in early June and is no longer achievable.

NZTR and the Club both agree that there are several issues that need to be addressed and that the confidence of the industry in the ability to provide a safe racing surface is essential prior to any timeline being developed.

NZTR will provide a further update by the end of next week.
