The Manawatu meeting scheduled for Awapuni on Friday 10 February will now become a Hawke’s Bay Racing licence at Hastings. The programme remains unchanged.

The Awapuni track was inspected on 18 January by representatives from NZTR, RACE and Regional Track Advisor Jason Fulford (ATR). The aggressive renovation work that has been completed has had the desired effect and all parties were happy with the progress that has been made.

A ‘Return to Racing’ programme will be followed, starting with barrier practice/track gallops, followed by jump outs and an official set of trials on Tuesday February 14. These trials replace those that were originally scheduled for Foxton.

All going well the first race day back at the Awapuni track will be the Marton JC meeting at Awapuni on Friday 3 March.
