After receiving upwards of 55ml of rain in Hastings this week Hawke’s Bay Racing is looking forward to HB Hunt race day on Saturday 29 June featuring the prestigious AHD Hawke’s Bay Steeplechase and Te Whangai Romneys Hawke’s Bay Hurdle. The rain has come at just the right time to make sure the Steeplechase course is safe for racing after an extended dry spell. HB Racing CEO Butch Castles commented “Having to abandon the Steeplechase on May 22 was not ideal but the chase course was just too firm. Thankfully getting rain this week means we are all systems go to stage another exciting renewal of the AHD Hawke’s Bay Steeplechase at the end of the month”.
