LOVERACING.NZ Preview - Otaki 29 July
Best Bet
Race 2 - #4 YUNGBLUD (Each Way)
He’s a 3yo son of Satono Aladdin who showed glimpses in his first campaign, albeit on firmer tracks than he’ll strike at Otaki on Saturday. Yungblud’s trial earlier this month was very respectable, where he looked to handle the Heavy conditions at Foxton that day. The wide draw (13) may not be as bad as it looks on paper for him here, with the rail in the true on the Heavy10 surface, out wide will likely be the place to be. Allan Sharrock’s mare, Swingit Our Way, looks hard to beat, however will be siding with Yungblud at the much better price in this one.

Race 6 - #4 SOTIRIO (Each Way)
Really like the $12/$3.80 about this Matthew Eales trained 3yo. His form this time in has been patchy, being beaten 9.8L at his latest start in R65 company, which came off the back of a 1.9L 3rd behind quality 3yo’s Fellini and Rocababy. The map looks very suitable for Sotirio on paper, with noted speedsters Vesmart and Bikindy engaged I expect they will get along at a strong gallop and he should be biding his time behind midfield. If he brings his best form on Saturday, I expect he will take plenty of stopping, whether we see his best is a question mark, however we are getting the right price to find out in what looks an even lineup.
