Race 2 - #7 ONEIRA (WIN)

2yo Contributer filly on debut who has trialed very impressively leading into this debut assignment. Her latest trial win at Waipa over 850m on a Soft7 was by far the quickest of nineteen 850m trials on the day, where she found the rail and lead, extending nicely in the rain effected going. Oneira has shown early speed at the trials, expecting Tegan Newman will be looking to be positive from the gates should she jump cleanly. She looks to be a filly with plenty of ability, I wouldn’t expect Cody Cole to be lining her up here if he didn’t believe she couldn’t handle the Heavy conditions. 

Race 4 - #6 CASINO PRINCESS (WIN)

Very exciting resumption here for Cliff Goss in the form of the lightly tried mare, Casino Princess. She put together two impressive wins in her only two starts last preparation, with the first of those being a 7.5L demolition on a Heavy10 at Tauranga. If she can continue on with what she showed last campaign, she will be awfully hard to beat here in this small field. I expect Kai will prove to be the main danger getting in light with the claim in her favoured going.
