Contacting NZTR during Omicron outbreak

NZTR
8 March 2022

As many of you will be aware Omicron has presented challenges to the way in which businesses are currently functioning across the country.  You may be encountering these challenges in your own business.  NZTR has taken a proactive approach to reduce risk and, where practical has allowed employees to work from home.

The National Racing Bureau (NRB) has been split into bubbles to allow key operations to continue when staff members are impacted by illness.

The Finance team is also split across the office and remote locations and queries regarding owner, trainer and jockey payments should be directed to [email protected]. We have staff who are regularly monitoring this e-mail address and will contact you when they are able to follow up on your query.

Where possible other staff are working from home and meeting virtually when required.  Given this NZTR is endeavouring to meet service standards as expected, however we would ask the following

  1. If your inquiry can be made via email online, please do so.
  2. If your inquiry must be by phone, please ensure you call the appropriate department and please note the National Racing Bureau number is for raceday matters ONLY.
  3. Stud Book – mare returns are now overdue but can still be accessed online using the Breeders’ Service Centre. Please EMAIL any queries to [email protected] as this will ensure they are dealt with promptly.
  4. Registrations – please ensure horses are registered at least three days prior to nomination to avoid not being able to race. Again, any queries regarding naming, racehorse ownership (and leasing) should be EMAILED to [email protected]
  5. General queries can be sent to [email protected]

We appreciate this is a challenging time for everyone, but ask that, where possible, the five steps above are followed.  This will ensure NZTR can deliver a level of service to meet expectations at this time.
