The year kicked off with a bang for our first Ride of the Week recipient for 2022, Yuto Kumagai for his outstanding ride aboard Motuman in Race 4 at Tauranga! From the wide draw of 14, he snagged him back to ensure he got onto the rail before the first bend. From there he hugged the rail all the way while others looked to get off it. In the final straight, that ground he had saved during the race, made all the difference and ensured they held on to win when the second horse came back at them. Congratulations Yuto!
