Tweeds and Tartans at the ready, Wellington Racing Club’s Grant Plumbing Wellington Steeplechase Day is just around the corner and is one event not to be missed.

Featuring the $75,000 Grant Plumbing Wellington Steeplechase and $75,000 Hydra-Cell Pumps Wellington Hurdle, watch the country’s toughest horses and jockeys vie for their spot in the jumps racing history books. Witness one of the greatest sights in New Zealand jumps racing, the famed Wellington Steeplechase ‘figure-eight’ track, which sees competitors (you guessed it!) follow a figure-eight course. Supported by an undercard of flat races, it is a racing enthusiast's dream.

Less into the racing and more into the fashion and food? That’s cool too – Wellington Racing Club has you sorted! While all hospitality areas are now sold out (you’ve got to be quick around here), member for a day tickets are still available. With access to the Harry Telford Pub, you’ll still be able to grab a quick lunch to keep you fueled for the day.

With elite winter racing, comes the fashion to match! Think you’ve nailed your fit? Enter the Trilby, Tweeds and Tartan Style Stakes where judges will be on the lookout for their Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gentleman and Best Dressed Tweeds and Tartan. Pick up a sash and return to your posse with ultimate bragging rights for the rest of the day.
