What made you want to pursue a career in racing?

It just happened. I always had an interest, but it wasn't until I became involved in a hands-on capacity that I got the bug! There's something about the outside of a horse that's good for the inside of a man.

What do you love most about racing?

Seeing how a horse you have bought/trained can bring people together is very humbling and satisfying.

What has been a career highlight for you?

Jon Snow winning the 2017 ATC Derby. He was such a genuine horse and the whole day was something I'll never forget.

Favourite horse you’ve trained?

Jon Snow.

Is there a trainer you look up to?

Murray Baker - I have learnt everything off him and couldn't have asked for a better mentor.

Favourite New Zealand track?

Ellerslie.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Weak people revenge, strong people forgive, intelligent people ignore.

If you weren’t in racing, what would you be doing?

Professional golfer.

When you're not working, what do you spend your time doing?

Sleeping.

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?

Daniel Ricciardo, Rory McIlroy and Oscar Wilde.

Favourite TV show?

Peaky Blinders.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I once had a job selling pet insurance!
