The Tauherenikau Racecourse hosts five race days a year in January, February, March (Masterton Racing Club), June, and October.  The January meeting often incorporates harness racing as well as gallops.  The January and February meetings are part of the popular Interislander Summer Festival, with the March meeting being organised by the Masterton Racing Club.  The Tauherenikau Racecourse is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic whilst watching the racing.  Set in 110 acres of beautiful native bush, with magnificent trees and quant buildings Tauherenikau is, without doubt, one of the most picturesque racing club environments in New Zealand.

Membership: Membership fees are set at $55 per year, a level that is affordable to everyone.

This includes admission to the race days for the member and a member’s guest (admission price normally $20 per person), Members’ car parking and admission to the members’ stand.

The Wairarapa Racing Club has members from all around the country who wouldn’t miss the New Year meetings.

To become a member simply go to download the membership form, fill in your details, and then either post this back to us with your cheque for $55.00 or deposit the money into our bank account and email the form back to us. Full details are on the application form.

Parking: The Club also has for sale private car parks for 4 years, contact main office for details.  These car parks are located adjacent to the saddling enclosure at the eastern end of the course and the other is directly outside the Members gate.
