Thames Jockey Club, incorporated in 1880, is proudly based in Thames, New Zealand. The Club’s flagship event is the Thames Gold Cup, held every January at Te Aroha Racecourse. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly summer raceday with plenty of activities for the kids, summer raceday fashion, and the famous Thames Flounder Pack spot prizes. It’s an intergenerational day out enjoyed by locals and holidaymakers alike. Reserved picnic spots are available for hire - perfect for birthdays or simply getting together with friends. The public stand comes alive with live music throughout the day, and there’s always a great line-up of food trucks on course. It’s the ideal New Year catch-up for family and friends from the Coromandel to the Plains - come and enjoy a great day of racing. For hospitality and group booking options, please contact the Club.
