Avondale J.C.
The Club was founded in 1889 when Avondale was a rural farm settlement on the outskirts of Auckland. Horse racing was known in the district as far back as 1864 when there was racing at Henderson’s Mill and at Helensville. Today the Avondale Jockey Club stages 5 fixtures each season, and races on a right-handed 1800m track.
Membership: Annual subscription $60.00. Discounted rates are available for senior citizens.

Governor General's Cup - April
It's fitting that the Club stages a meeting on Anzac Day as the venue was the site for the Tunnelling Company camp, the first Maori contingent and the 3rd (Auckland) Mounted Rifles camp in the lead up to WW1. The featured race is the Governor General's Cup which is held at the April meeting.
