The Canterbury Jockey Club will conduct a six-race programme on the turf course proper at Riccarton Park Racecourse on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Approved by the TAB dates committee.

Together with New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing the CJC is looking to provide opportunities for horses which were unable to race after the abandonment of seven races at Phar Lap Raceway on Sunday, and for which there may not be opportunities at Oamaru Racecourse on Sunday 14 June or Riccarton Park Racecourse on Saturday 20 June 2026.

Favourable weather conditions have made holding this meeting on the turf an option rather than on the Polytrack which would have been probable under usual winter weather conditions.

Being held on the Tuesday enables the CJC to undertake any required remedial work to have Riccarton Park Racecourse ready to hold the Feature meeting on Saturday 20 June 2026.

The programme is as follows:

• Rating 60 1600 metres      $17,000
• Rating 60 1200 metres      $17,000
• Maiden 1600 metres      $17,000
• Maiden 1400 metres      $17,000
• Maiden 1200 metres      $17,000
• Maiden 1000 metres      $17,000

Nominations will close at 12 noon on Thursday 11 June 2026.

Withdrawals will close at 10 am on Friday 12 June 2026.

Declaration of Riders will close at 1 pm on Friday 12 June 2026.
