Taupō and Tauherenikau Return to Racing Update
Taupō Racecourse - Meeting 10 October
New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) can confirm that, following track gallops on Thursday 2 October, Taupō Racecourse has been cleared to return to racing on Friday 10 October as planned.
A total of 28 horses galloped on the course proper, including six pairs over the repaired section of track. The exercise was observed by representatives from the Taupō Racing Club, Racing Integrity Board, Class A riders and trackwork riders, all of whom were satisfied with the track’s progress.
Tauherenikau Racecourse - Meeting 9 November
Track gallops were conducted at Tauherenikau Racecourse on Thursday 2 October as part of the Club’s Return-to-Racing process. The track presented as a Soft 5-6 with horses moving through the surface well, including over the previously repaired area, which was consistent with the rest of the track.
Verti-draining has been scheduled over the coming week in preparation for the raceday on 9 November.
