The return raceday at RACE Awapuni on Saturday 23 August has been rescheduled following a track assessment carried out after gallops on Tuesday 22 July. New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR), RACE Inc., the Racing Integrity Board, and Track Advisor Liam O’Keeffe were all in agreement that the track would benefit from additional time.

 

RACE Inc. and NZTR are now working towards holding the first meeting at the venue on Saturday 6 September, allowing further time for the track to recover following recent remediation work and to complete the remaining return-to-racing protocols.

 

An alternative venue for the 23 August meeting is being finalised and will be confirmed in due course.
