The four MAAT races at Cambridge on Wednesday 26 July will each be run for a stake of $40,000. The field for these races will be selected on the following basis notwithstanding horses must have been a maiden as at midnight on Tuesday 16 May, 2023:

• Points will be awarded as follows for meetings held on the Cambridge track since 1 August 2022 – 1^st 7pts, 2^nd 5pts, 3^rd 3 pts, 4^th 2 pts, every other starter 1pt.
• Horses that have won on the Cambridge synthetic since 16 May 2023 will be exempt from the ballot.
• Horses that have not competed on the Cambridge synthetic since 1 August 2022 will be first eliminated.
• Horses will be eliminated in points order after that with the horses with the lowest points being first eliminated.
• In the event of horses having an equal number of points preference will be given to the highest rated horses. In the event of  horses having the same points and same rating horses will be eliminated by lot.

All non-MAAT races on this day will be selected as per the usual criteria.
