A decision has been made to abandon Sunday’s race-meeting at Hastings.

While there is little doubt the track would play safely there are bigger issues including road infrastructure/access, power and communication, the displacement of hundreds of people including at least two deaths. The host club for this meeting, Wairoa, is isolated from the rest of the country and there are serious concerns for their health and well-being. Civil Defence have asked that movement is restricted to matters of urgency.
