There has been an increase in stake-money for both the Egmont and Taupo Cups with the South Taranaki Club Egmont Cup now running for $50k on Saturday 8 October and The Harcourts Taupo Cup now $70k on 30 December. The winner of the Harcourts Taupo Cup will gain automatic entry into the 2023 Wellington Cup. Furthermore the R75 1800m at the Taupo meeting on Tuesday 8 November will now have an increased stake to $20k.
