A 1050m trial will be held prior to the Matamata races on Wednesday 12 January. Eligibility for this trial is for horses that have been placed 1^st to 4^th  in a Group Race and winners of Listed Races. First eliminated will be horses that have run 4^th in a Group Race. Nominations for this trial will be due on Friday 7 January (same time as race meeting nominations close).
