ACCESS TO SADDLING ENCLOSURE
Following consultation with the New Zealand Trainers’ Association & Racing Clubs, it has been agreed that entry to the Saddling Enclosures at all thoroughbred racing venues will be restricted to Licensed Trainers & Registered Persons. In conjunction with this directive, the minimum age for staff to enter these areas is 14 years unless a Stipendiary Steward has granted prior approval. In order to enforce this policy, Licensed Trainers and Licensed Persons must display their official NZTR ID card to gain access to the Saddling Enclosure areas on raceday

RACEMEETING INFORMATION:
TRAINERS, JOCKEYS, OFFICIALS – IMPORTANT
Due to the construction of the Synthetic Track the Course Proper and all the areas inside of the Course Proper are deemed the Fulton Hogan works site.
As such no-one can enter this area without Futon Hogan’s permission or them knowing it.
If you wish to walk the Course Proper prior to raceday then you must get the permission of Fulton Hogan by calling into their site office prior to walking the track. The site office is located through the gate on the Racecourse Road driveway opposite the Racecourse House.
Fulton Hogan will then advise the construction workers of the presence of people on the Course Proper.
Hi-Viz must be worn when walking the Course Proper and under no circumstances is there to be any entry onto the area inside of the Course Proper.

ROADWORKS – IMPORTANT
Roadworks are being undertaken by Fulton Hogan to install traffic lights at the intersection of Steadman and Yaldhurst Roads. Advise is that this project will run through until May. To avoid this intersection:
• Vehicles can turn left off SH1 Masham Road onto Rosella Street, left onto Steadman Road and left into the racecourse.
• Vehicles can turn left off SH1 Masham Road onto Steadman Road and right into the racecourse.
Please take this into consideration when organising travel and transport of horses.

FLOAT ENTRY:
Float Operators and Trainers are reminded that all floats are to enter Riccarton Park through the Steadman Road gate. The Racecourse Road entrances do not provide access through to the horse float containment area.

FLOAT PARKING:
All Floats to use the containment area. Trainers and Float operators are advised that it is a requirement of the Canterbury Jockey Club Horse Containment Policy that all floats unload and load within the confines of the contained Float Park. Horses are not to be unloaded or loaded anywhere other than within this area.

HORSE CONTAINMENT – GATES CLOSED:
Trainers and Float operators are reminded that all gates to the stables on Racecourse and Yaldhurst Roads are always to remain closed. Please ensure that your owners, staff, and other contractors are aware of this requirement. This is a major safety issue as closed gates prevent horses escaping off the property onto the surrounding roads.

SAUNA USE
The following conditions have been reached in consultation with the NZ Jockeys Association and apply to use of the Sauna at Riccarton Park Racecourse.
• There MUST always be at least two (2) people in the Sauna/Jockeys Rooms.
• The sauna is NOT to be used by ONE PERSON in the facility on their own.
• All cars are to be parked out on the driveway NOT inside the ‘Arch Gate’.
• The Jockeys Room/Basement area must be locked when leaving. It is not to be left open under any circumstances.
• Lights and heaters are to be turned off.
• A water cooler is installed to provide drinking water.
• Jockeys using the facilities are responsible for cleaning and tidying the sauna, showers, and toilets after use.

JOCKEYS: Clause 3.3 of the NZTR COVID-19 Emergency Regulations which currently apply require jockeys to provide their own water bottle with their name on it should they require a drink of water at the starting gates. The forecast is for warm temperatures on Saturday so it may be sensible to be prepared for this requirement. Drink bottles can be handed in to the Stipendiary Stewards room where they will be collected by the starter and taken to the start.

OWNERS PRIVILEGES:
Owners’ privileges are detailed in the NZTR ‘Owners Letter’. Owners are advised that the best parking, in front of the Grand National Stand, is accessed from the Steadman Road entrance. Owners are invited to lead winners back to scale and retain the presentation lead.

OWNERS PAVILION:
Owners are invited to join the Club and sponsors for a drink before their race in the LOVERACING ‘Owners Pavilion’ situated on the south side of the Parade Ring.

LICENCE DISPLAY: To assist security in ensuring that only authorised people are allowed onto the racecourse and into the raceday stalls area it is essential that all licence-holders and licensed staff wear their licence badges so that they are always clearly visible.
Security do not necessarily know trainers and other licence holders by sight and wearing licence badges so that they are easily seen will prevent any unnecessary embarrassment in accessing the stalls area.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE YOU NEW SEASON 2020/21 LICENCE.
