Open Entry Races

Open Entry Races retain an 8kg spread to reflect the range of horses that are accommodated in these events. The range will, however, be 62kg – 54kg as opposed to the previous 63kg – 55kg. If the spread of ratings is less than 16 points these races will be weighted from the bottom up notwithstanding the standard regulations that apply.

Standard Open and Rating Races

The weights for these races will revert to the standard handicapping policy that was in place pre-Covid.

Maiden Races and SW&P Age Group Races

The weights for these races will revert to the standard handicapping policy that was in place pre-Covid.

Jump Racing

These weights will be as per standard handicapping policy.

Re-Ratings

With stakes largely reflecting what was on offer at the corresponding time last year, the minimum re-rating maximum of 6 points will now be removed.

Please note this does not apply to the Wellington RC meeting at Awapuni on Friday 31 July.
