National Jumps Day race conditions
Jumps trainers are reminded of the special conditions attached to the open steeple and hurdle events on National Jumps Day at Te Aroha on September 29.
Both $30,000 races will be run at set weights and penalties thus: males 68kg; females 66kg; maiden allowance 1kg.
Penalties additional to the set weights based on wins in the relevant jumps discipline during the six months up to September 29:
2 wins: +1kg; 3 wins: +2kg; 4 or more wins: +3kg. Any winner in the same period of one or more Prestige Jumping Races to carry an additional 1kg penalty.
Both races also carry a maximum re-handicap clause: no more than four rating points for a win & one point for second or third. This will not apply to any horse winning its maiden race, which will incur the standard re-rating to 69.
